The Duck Head 2019 Holiday Gift Guide

With Halloween in the rear view and Thanksgiving around the next corner, the holiday season is definitely upon us. Which means that both the joy and the challenges of gift giving are coming into focus as well. In an effort to make the season less frustrating and more festive we’ve collected some go-to-gifts that are sure to please the guys on your list.

The Southern Sportsman

The Angler:

Whenever possible this guy heads out for the nearest stream. For starters you could give this Social Sportsman a Fly Fishing Log to keep him honest about the ones he actually caught and the ones that got away. Or give him a set of Vintage Trout Prints that would look great on the walls of his office or his cabin. Another sure bet is a River Green Cooler and a pack of Locally Crafted Brew for those lazy afternoons on the water. For the days he can’t walk around in his waders he’d cherish his new book on the History of Fly Fishing in 50 Ties. But on the days he’s out there casting we recommend our Lake Blue Plainfield Flannel Shirt for comfort and an extra layer as needed.

The Music Lover:

Turn it up — all the way up! The Music Lover will be extra grateful for a new pair of Noise Cancelling Headphones or a Waterproof Wireless Speaker so he can tune in his favorite jam band and out the busy world. For a night to remember give him Concert Tickets to a sold out show. If he’s studying up on all the Music Hall of Famers then an Encyclopedia of Rock an Roll will fit the bill. But if he’s into The Blues then we say go with a theme and give him a Duck Head Heather Blue Henley.

The Man on the Go:

Whether traveling for business or pleasure gifts that help out the guy on the go are always appreciated. One of our favorites this year is a handsome Leather Charger Roll Up for keeping all phone and computer gear neatly in one place. Other options on our list are an olive colored Garment Bag or a charcoal gray Weekender Duffle. A new (but fully broken in) leather Dop Kit in rich dark brown will work hard on the road as would a pair of Gold School Chinos — a classic staple for any man that can easily be dressed up or down.

The Outdoors Man:

Hiking or shooting...this friend always wants to be under a blue sky in the great outdoors. Give him a subscription to Garden & Gun Magazine or make a donation to help with Conservation of the Wilderness in his name. You could take it up a notch and add Brass Duck Head Bookends as well. If this nature lover is looking for new gear for those chiller days out in the field you can’t go wrong with the Duck Head Overland Quilted Vest and a pair of Duck Head 1865-Pocket Field Canvas Pant.

The Host with the Most:

The guy who’s always throwing open the door and bringing the gang together could definitely use some extra party snacks. Give him local Southern favorites like Virginia Peanuts or a can of gourmet cheddar Cheese Straws. Your grilling buddy would definitely appreciate a Monogrammed Cutting Board for showcasing his dinner spreads. If he’s wild about whiskey a bottle of fine Kentucky Bourbon or some Monogrammed Leather Coasters will do the trick. If your friend is a fan of the low country, get him an Oyster Shucker so he'll be prepared for any roast ahead and able to pop oysters out with ease. But if he’s a cold beer lover we highly recommend Duck Head Drink Sleeves to keep his brew nice and cold.
